Metro is looking for an accomplished leader to oversee an agency-wide asset management, capital planning and capital construction program. As the Asset Management and Capital Planning (AMCP) Program Director, this person will be responsible for projects and programs which include; implementing Metro's Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), facilitating the development and adoption of an annual 5-year Financial Capital Plan (in coordination with agency-wide staff and leadership), and guiding Metro's seven major operations (Oregon Convention Center, Portland'5 Centers for the Arts, Portland Expo Center, Parks and Nature, Solid Waste Operations, Oregon Zoo and Metro Regional Center) staff in developing asset management service plans. This person will promote construction project execution best practices among department staff Metro-wide, and starting July 1, 2019, oversee the execution of capital projects undertaken by the Construction Project Management Office. This person will also facilitate the Asset Management Capital Planning team and Steering Committee.
Reporting to Metro's Deputy Chief Operating Officer, this person will take on an agency-wide portfolio of challenging and rewarding work. This entails working in a culture of collaboration, teamwork and will require initiative as this person develops new programs and gains an understanding of the body of work and Metro operations in order to achieve results. The ultimate goal of this work is to maintain our public facilities at the highest levels which ensure we can provide valued services and experiences to the public we serve in this region in an efficient and responsible manner.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in asset management, capital planning, and construction project management. Furthermore, this person demonstrates a commitment to public service and diversity, equity and inclusion.

A minimum of seven (7) years of senior management experience in administrative and financial functions, and a Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.
A PMP certification may be beneficial for this position, but is not required.
