St. Lucie County, FL (Approximate Population: 306,000) lies within a four-county region, referred to as the “Treasure Coast”. The County has three incorporated cities: Fort Pierce (population ~45,000), Port St. Lucie (population ~180,000) and St. Lucie Village (population ~600). Most of the County’s land mass falls in the unincorporated area and is served by the County and the Fire District. St. Lucie County is an exciting, picturesque place with opportunities abound. St. Lucie County is a council-manager form of government, which is comprised of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and elected constitutional offices, which include the Clerk of the Court, Property Appraiser, Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections and the Tax Collector. The School Board and Fire District operate independently. There are currently approximately 800 FTEs under the direct oversight of the Board of County Commissioners.
St. Lucie County is seeking a seasoned, experienced government executive who has the proven ability in leading change with creative problem solving skills and initiative to advance both St. Lucie County and its community. Successful candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field with at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in government or business leadership positions, with a strong preference in organizations that are of a similar size or larger.
