The Fairmount Park Conservancy seeks applications and nominations for their Chief Financial Officer. Founded in 1998, The Fairmount Park Conservancy's mission is to champion Philadelphia's parks, lead capital projects and historic preservation efforts, foster neighborhood park stewardship, attract and leverage investments, and develop innovative programs throughout the 10,200 acres that include Fairmount Park and more than 100 neighborhood parks around the city. Philadelphia has one of the largest urban park systems in the world, providing residents with extensive health, environmental, social, economic and cultural benefits.
The Conservancy has grown exponentially since 2011. The annual increasing the annual budget from $750,000 to $9.2 million and its staff from three to over 25 full time employees. Sources of revenues include foundation, corporation, and individual giving, city government contracts, property leasing, earned income, and fees from service conservation contracts. The Conservancy has over $11 million in capital projects underway, either in advanced planning or actual construction stage.
The Conservancy seeks a collaborative team player with strong fiscal and non-profit management skills who will have at least five years of experience managing the finance and administrative functions for a $3 million (and above) organization or business unit. The successful candidate will have experience reengineering financial processes, procedures and systems to help an organization realize its vision and mission. He or she must harness technology solutions both to make an operation run more effective and efficient and to track performance against plans. Guided by Conservancy's mission, the ideal candidate will be smart, hands-on, patient, detailed-oriented, energetic, and hard-working with a low-ego and an ability to work with many different personalities. Non-profit experience is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has experience with budgeting, procurement, and monitoring of capital projects from a fiduciary point of view.
