The Director of Community Development is under the supervision of the Deputy City Manager.The Community Development department consist of five major operating divisions with an operating budget of $6.7 Million and 41 employees.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, landscape architecture, engineering, or a closely related field is required. A master’s degree is strongly preferred, as is AICP certification. The selected candidate must have 7-10 years of progressively responsible planning and community development experience, including at least five years as a director or assistant director. Experience in downtown redevelopment and neighborhood revitalization is desired. The starting salary is between $120,000 and $135,000 DOQE.
