As a part of the Seattle Human Resource Team, we have an opportunity for a finance and administration professional who wants to make a difference by ensuring stewardship of our fiscal resources and the integrity of operational systems.
The Finance and Business Operations Manager provides management oversight and supervision of the fiscal and administrative functions of the department. The Manager serves as the department's primary budget planner and provides operational oversight and operational excellence to the department's finance, accounting, and various administrative functions. This position reports to the department Chief of Staff.
What do we need you to do?
Manage and provide organizational oversight of the Department of Human Resources' fiscal, business and information technology processes and operations.
Provide technical expertise in the areas of finance, budgeting, policy analysis, operations serving as the department's point of contact with the City Budget Office.
Represent the interests of the department and the human resource function in the City's planning and implementation of enhancements to enterprise information systems.
Manage service level agreements for information services and other operational functions. Negotiate and prepare Memorandums of Agreement with other departments as required.
Support the success of the Finance, Accounting and Business Operation teams by establishing clear roles and responsibilities. Provide coaching and mentoring to develop staff talents and achieve business priorities.
A successful candidate will have significant technical knowledge and expertise in finance as well as a wide variety of operational processes and functions with the ability to tactfully and effectively communicate at all levels. Education: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or a certified equivalency for studies in business or public administration, finance, human resources or a related field.
Experience: Experience that demonstrate the ability to achieve the job responsibilities of the position as outlined. Candidates with experience in leading a business unit and supervising a professional team will be given first consideration.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.
