The City of Temple is a full-service, home rule city operating under a council-manager form of government. The City Council, comprised of a Mayor and four Council members, appoints a professional City Manager to lead and direct the daily operations of the organization. The City seeks a creative, personable, and strategic leader to serve as the Operations Manager for the Mayborn Convention Center. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented multi-tasker with excellent time management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Manager is responsible for the control and development of revenue expenditures and the Convention Center budget. This position oversees the Sales Department in marketing the Convention Center and booking events, supervises event and food and beverage staff, and manages the coordination of bookings, contracts, diagramming, and staffing of events.
A bachelor’s degree with coursework in business, management, or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience at a supervisory level with a major convention, multi-purpose facility, or equivalent position are required. Additional years of experience may serve as a substitute for the degree requirement (on basis of two years of experience for one year of college).
