City / County Manager, Contract Compliance, Government/Military
The City of Gainesville is seeking a visionary with strong critical and innovative thinking skills to serve as its Assistant City Manager. This executive leader will be solutions-driven and provide support to the City Manager when:
Analyzing and implementing policies and procedures that govern the course of operations;
Developing strategies that lead to delivery of new programs, services and initiatives that address community needs;
Speaking to civic and community groups to promote and explain municipal policies and programs; and
Directing preparation and review of department budget estimates.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in public administration, business administration or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience in local government administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to articulate complex information and issues clearly and concisely is required.
Thorough knowledge of charter provisions, ordinances and state laws governing the administration of City government a plus.
Salary will be determined based on qualifications and the desired attributes sought by the city.
