Full-time position available with KCMO’s Human Relations Department, Minority/Woman/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Division, 414 E. 12th St. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Assists in the day-to-day disputes, complaints, and compliance concerns from general contractors, subcontractors, developers, attorneys, agencies, stakeholders and city staff on various KCMO construction and statutory agency projects. Facilitates meetings and researches local, state, and federal legislations and draft resolution memorandums. Maintains confidentiality and represents the Human Relations Department at various governmental, community, and civic engagements. Seeks resolutions regarding performance issues, payment disputes, compliance monitoring and Minority/Women/Disadvantages/ Business Enterprise (MWBDE) goals.
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 (OR an accredited Master’s degree and 2) years of professional experience a legal firm, governmental agency, intergroup relations or related area of work involving discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation; alternative dispute resolution; analyzing affirmative action programs and MBE/WBE programs which promotes understanding among people regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation, including 2 years at the level of the City’s Human Relations Specialist.
