The City Manager is looking for an energetic individual who is passionate about local government to serve as the Assistant City Manager to assist with the daily management of the City.
Responsibilities include supervising the operations of assigned departments. The individual in this position will have an opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and complex projects working with the City Council, department directors, City staff, and the community. The Assistant City Manager may also serve as the Acting City Manager in the absence of the City Manager. This position will be responsible for keeping abreast changes in Federal, State and local law, and rules and regulations, we well as analyzing the impact of those changes.Manage and lead departments within the Community Development Cluster of city government.
Position requires MPA/MBA/related MA in Public Administration, Urban Planning or related field or equivalent; 5 to 10 years of executive management experience, preferably w/a local/state government; excellent written, verbal and human relations skills; proven skills in leading positive change and promoting activities that encourage innovation; ability to anticipate organizational needs; encourages regional solutions to issues, as appropriate.
Reports to City Manager. Manages departments as assigned. Must be a City resident or secure residence within the City limits within 12 months of employment.
