The Town Clerk’s office is the primary clerical support team for the Town Council by publishing meeting calendars and agendas, recording minutes, advertising legal notices, maintaining public records and archives, and a wide variety of other functions, including recruitment of appointees for boards and commissions. The position of deputy clerk is responsible for assisting the Town Clerk with daily operations and performing a variety of advanced administrative duties for the Town Clerk, Mayor and Town Council, including phone calls, correspondence, and addressing citizens in person. Night time work is required to attend work sessions and other meetings. Overtime is paid or, in lieu of overtime, compensatory time may be earned. Requires an Associate’s Degree or specialized courses/training with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, or the equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in Office Management, or closely related area and two years related experience.
