The purpose of this class is to manage, plan and direct the Utilities Department to ensure that services are provided to protect the public health and the environment and comply with regulatory requirements, and respond to the needs of the citizens of the City.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field and seven (7) years of experience in water, wastewater, or public works setting to include five (5) years in a management capacity with responsibility for a large division within a public utility agency; or any equivalent combination of training and experiences.? Professional Engineer (PE) status by the State of Florida is preferred.
