Assists in managing the operations of the City Clerk’s office and related administrative activities providing support to the City Council.
Position Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Examples of Essential Duties:
Prepares and certifies recording of real estate documents, resolutions, ordinances, and other documents to County Recorder and certifies property assessments to County Treasurer. Develops and manages publication of official public notices for Council related items and other miscellaneous items.
Manages public improvement contract documents, including publication requirements and processes contract documents for permanent record.
Assists in the preparation of Council agendas and meeting minutes.
Serves as the City Clerk in the City Clerk’s absence. Attends Council meetings as assigned and prepares minutes.
Assists in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of assigned department budget.
Manages and documents annexation notification and reporting compliance activities.
Monitors all documents entered into the City’s document management system.
Manages and assists with the preparation of Council agendas and packets.
Performs related work as required.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field and
Five to seven years of experience as a municipal clerk or related work or
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population
Required Licenses or Certifications
Certified Municipal Clerk accreditation
Proficiency with document management software and systems
