This position is responsible for the proper management and execution of duties as they relate to the processing of public information requests, open meetings, and boards and commissions. The position requires extensive knowledge and understanding of governmental laws, procedures, and requirement of the Texas Public Information Act (PIA) and Texas Open Meetings Act (OMA). The position requires superior writing skills, computer knowledge and skills, organizational and communication skills, requires initiative, independent thinking, and the ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
REQUIRED: 1. Associate's Degree in public administration, legal studies, business, communications, or related field from an accredited college or university OR equivalent education and directly related experience. 2. Three years customer service or general office experience. 3. Advanced computer skills and applicable specialized public information request programs.
Governmental work experience.
Experience working with public information requests and/or records management.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
