Under the direction of the Township Manager, serves as the Community and Economic Development Coordinator for the township. The Community and Economic Development Coordinator will be a motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit responsible for ensuring Delta Township’s vision and values for its future. A Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent, in Public Administration, Business or a related field and at least two years of experience in economic development activities.
Experience with Brownfield plans and tax increment financing.
Must be an action-oriented team player with a positive attitude. Must be able to take direction and have a desire to learn new skills. Able to multi-task and work on a variety of project types with short deadlines. Knowledge of placemaking and economic development practices and principles at the local, regional, and state levels.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have good judgement, understand discretion, sensitivity to political issues, and organizational awareness. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with citizens, business and property owners, developers, other township departments, volunteers, and elected officials. Analytical, interpersonal, and computer skills. Familiarity with GIS is desirable.
Delta Township is located on the west side of the Capital Area Region, bordered on the east by the City of Lansing.
