Under the direction of the City Manager, the Information Technology Director manages the planning, budgeting, and implementation of technology policies, programs, and services to support the City’s end-user needs through four direct reports: Assistant IT Director who oversees the Helpdesk and Infrastructure teams, PMO Manager, Applications IT Manager, and GIS Manager.
The City of Columbia is seeking a skilled and visionary leader who values relationship building and customer service. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, data science, or a closely related field, with a master’s degree in business administration or public administration highly preferred.
Candidates should also have at least 10 years of Information Technology service experience in municipal government, and seven years of supervisory experience is desired. Information Technology Infrastructure Library certification and expertise in a similar-sized department — or larger — would be ideal.
The City of Columbia is offering a starting salary of $96,013 to $168,605 for this position, dependent on qualifications and experience.
