Reporting to the City Manager and acting in collaboration with the Senior Management Team, the Human Resources Department led by the Human Resources Director develops and recommends people strategies that align with the City’s business objectives and executes operational structures and HR systems that maximize human resources.
The City of Laramie seeks an experienced, strong leader to serve as its next Director of Human Resources. This person will possess expert-level knowledge about the principles and practices of public sector personnel administration, compensation management, municipal government, safety and risk management.
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business administration, personnel management, or a related field and 8-10 years progressively responsible human resource experience is required, with public sector experience preferred. At least five years supervisory experience is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Certification as a professional or senior professional in human resources is desired.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $137,623 annually depending on qualifications and experience. The city offers great benefits including paid time off for volunteer service, paid tuition for classes at the local college, and the potential for a flexible work schedule.
