Washington County, Oregon is searching for an experienced and visionary servant-leader eager to lead a skilled team of professionals in managing the community’s juvenile programs. Under the direction of the Assistant County Administrator, the Director of Juvenile Services plans, directs, and reviews the activities and operations of the Juvenile Department, including assessment, case management, residential and custodial services for youth referred for delinquent acts, research and evaluation programming and conciliation services, including counseling and mediation for parents involved with the Domestic Relations Court, coordinates activities with other County department as well as outside agencies; and provides high-level administrative support to the Assistant County Administrator.

Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in criminal or juvenile justice, public administration, human services, public health, or a related field; AND six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a juvenile justice system leading cross-system, collaborative efforts and complex change with at least four (4) years of professional experience in a supervisory or management capacity. Individuals without a Bachelor’s degree should have ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in a juvenile justice system leading cross-system, collaborative efforts, and complex change with at least four (4) years of professional experience in a supervisory or management capacity. Demonstrated experience in implementing and supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion culture and strategies in a management role is highly preferred. The chosen candidate will also need a valid Oregon driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Washington County is offering a salary range of $151,847.04 – $193,750.32 for this position, depending on qualifications and experience.
