The Budget Manager oversees operating and capital budget development and monitoring, with overall responsibility for current year budget-to-actual financial reporting, payroll, and financial analysis and forecasting. The position assists with long-term financial planning activities including cash flow projections, financial analysis, and debt issuance, and reviews bi-monthly and annual payroll transactions.
The ideal candidate will have:
Hands-on leadership and team-building experience;
A broad knowledge base in the areas of local government budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and/or grant management;
The ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences; and
Strong technical, problem solving and advanced modeling skills, utilizing Excel and financial systems.
