The City of Elk Grove Economic Development Department is seeking a qualified economic development professional with a marketing and communications background looking to join our team. The department is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the City’s economic development programs and activities. We measure success in terms of job creation, capital investment, and tax base growth and this position will play a critical role in furthering those goals. The ideal candidate will have some experience working for a local or regional economic development organization with a focus in marketing and communications. The selected candidate will be able to assist the department with marketing and communications strategy development and dissemination, brand development and positioning, website and social media development and management, content creation, and special event planning and execution for a primarily business audience of companies and their representatives (startups, corporations, brokers, developers, site selection consultants, real estate executives) looking to locate or expand in Elk Grove.

Education/Training: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, real estate, economics, finance, urban and regional planning, marketing and communications, or a closely related field.
Experience: One (1) year or more of progressively responsible technical or professional experience in economic development activities, or closely related activities such as land use planning and permitting, community development, government program and project management, business planning or operations, finance and economics, or real estate development. Secondary experience in marketing and communications and/or data gathering and analysis is helpful.
License or Certificate: Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.
