The Director of the Department of Planning and Zoning provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the City’s land use planning and redevelopment processes. Reporting to a Deputy City Manager, the Director organizes and directs the review of development proposals, citywide and small area plan development, historic preservation, zoning administration and inspection, demographics/census analysis, as well as special studies on issues such green building policies, public school enrollment projections. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and ethical leader with significant experience in city planning at a supervisory level.
