The City of San Mateo (pop. 105,661) is the largest municipality in San Mateo County, located on the San Francisco Peninsula. The Public Works Department, supported by an FY 2023-24 operating budget of $44.7 million and 158.69 FTE responsible for the maintenance, operation, design, and construction of the City’s infrastructure and the $1 billion Clean Water Program.
