This is very responsible administrative and professional work coordinating, researching, planning, organizing, directing, and implementing comprehensive economic and community development programs to create a positive impact within the City for its citizens and businesses. Work involves coordinating and directing activities and initiatives that improve the community through municipal, federal, state, and local programs; applying considerable knowledge of governmental organizations to formulate solutions to a wide variety of problems involving community, business, and economic programs; and coordinating related City objectives, policies and programs involving the City, its citizens, Administration, and partner organizations. This position requires considerable initiative and judgment to formulate recommendations for policies, procedures, and programs, which may include development/redevelopment, community growth, and business growth, at times, to specifically targeted areas of the City. Work also includes discretion, dedication, and tact to effectively communicate, coordinate, and build cooperative relationships with citizens, outside organizations, business groups, other government entities, elected officials, lawmakers, City Administration and City Council.
Salary: $96,726 - $152,623 DOQ

Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
Have a valid Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Have considerable administrative, public relations, and/or similarly related management experience.
Have a verifiable history of effective communication and relationship building with government officials, policymakers, and businesses, preferably in Florida and the Tampa Bay region regarding community development.
Be able to assist with the creation and implementation of policies, programs and objectives related to community support, development, redevelopment, and growth.
Be able to conduct accurate and thorough research through effective methods and techniques.
Be able to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and communications that includes summaries, statistics, analysis, and financial information gathered from numerous sources.
Be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing, including regular presentations to City Administration and City Council.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred Applicants:
Have a Master’s degree in a related field.
Have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration, preferably at the municipal government level.
Have prior experience working with community support, development, and redevelopment at a municipal level.
Have prior work history that includes grant management, grant writing, and/or securing grants.
