The City of Austin is seeking highly qualified individuals to fill two Deputy City Attorney positions.
The Deputy City Attorney will face exciting challenges and have opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the City's legal strategy, policy development, and risk management efforts. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading and managing attorneys and support staff to ensure effective legal services are delivered efficiently and professionally. The Deputy City Attorney will support the City Attorney in aligning legal advice and counsel with citywide policy goals and objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of legal integrity and ethical practice.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited law school, plus seven (7) years of experience as an attorney, five (5) years of service in the State of Texas, two (2) years of which were in an upper management legal capacity.
Licenses and Certifications Required: Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
The selected candidates will have substantial experience in municipal law or general government law, and strong interpersonal skills.
